Procter’s is a family run business trading in the heart of Ipswich town centre. Having been established for over 30 years and with a fantastic reputation, we, as a family, purchased it from the previous owners in August 2024 following an extensive search for an outlet to showcase our pork from our award-winning family farming business in Essex. We’ve grown as a business since 2024, in our product range, customer base and our team!
We serve our retail customers from our shop based in The Walk, Ipswich. Our amazing customers travel far and wide to get their Procter’s fix with delivery also available for our more local shoppers every Tuesday subject to location and minimum spend eligibility!
Our fantastic wholesale customers, ranging from small traditional cafes to some of the most prestige hotels and restaurants across East Anglia receive their orders by delivery from us either the day their orders are made or the day after. Everything is made to order in our production unit on the outskirts of Ipswich.
Our team of experienced and professionally trained staff are happy to offer excellent advice and recommendations when choosing from our delicious range of products and even give you some recipe tips!

More than sausages
With over 30 years’ worth of refining our award-winning recipes, we bring three decades of recipes and knowledge. Our product really is the highest quality with fantastic flavour, our Procter’s range is ever growing and evolving, including seasonal flavours that our customers have come to know and love as well as the various patties, meatballs and sausage meat flavours we now make up.
On the shelves and in the counters, you’ll find a large variety of products that are locally sourced such as our bacon, Gates Farm eggs, pies and quiches from Capel St Mary and an array of jars also available from the likes of Stokes and Garden of Suffolk.
Less local but just as popular is our South African range bringing a little bit of South Africa to Suffolk!
Crops
We grow our own cereals, fertilised with manure from our pigs, ensuring complete traceability from soil to feed ingredients.
Pigs
Family-raised pigs since 1919, certified to Red Tractor Assurance Standards with annual assessments covering animal welfare, health, and comprehensive documentation for full supply chain visibility.

Production
Solar-powered milling of our own harvested crops into pig feed, creating a closed-loop system where we control every step from farm to feed production.
Products
Complete supply chain integration from raising pigs to butchery, maintaining traceability through multi-generational family expertise and rigorous standards compliance throughout the entire process.
Traceability
On the farming side, F J Bosworth and Sons, we grow our own cereals, with those crops being fertilised via manure from our pigs and then harvested to make up two key ingredients for our pig feed which we mill ourselves using solar energy.
Our team on the Farm are passionate about our animals and our environment. We are proud to be 1 of 15 pilot pig farms in the UK on AHDB’s Environmental Baselining Project. A 5-year commitment to monitoring and making changes to reduce emissions at the farm to hopefully help lead the way in getting agriculture to net-zero.
Raising pigs has been in our family since 1919 and butchery has also been a profession by previous generations. We are delighted to now be involved in the process of not just keeping pigs but also seeing them through the supply chain.
All our pigs are certified to Red Tractor Assurance Standards which is the UK’s largest food and farm standards scheme. We are assessed at least once a year, a process that involves reviewing the animals, pig health, pig welfare, buildings, staff training, vet reports and many other documents to ensure the business meets the required standards.
